Let’s explore the concept of digital transformation and the disconnect between the idealistic vision of what it promises versus the practical realities of implementing it. While there is no doubt that digital transformation can offer significant benefits, such as improved efficiency and increased revenue, the process of achieving it can be complex, costly, and even counterproductive at times. We will examine the challenges companies experience when implementing digital transformation tools and strategies, including resistance to change, lack of expertise and resources, and the difficulty of integrating new technologies with existing systems.

Additionally, we will explore concepts such as Digital Twin, which have gained significant traction in recent years as a promising solution for effective asset management. Lastly, we will also discuss the importance of a clear strategy and strong leadership in successfully implementing digital transformation initiatives. Ultimately, we will argue that while digital transformation may be a utopian vision, it is still worth pursuing, provided that organizations are prepared to invest the time, money, leadership, and effort required to make it a reality.

About the Presenters:
Frederic Baudart is Sr. Product Marketing Manager for Accruent, focusing on the company’s industrial & healthcare CMMS software product lines. He has 25+ years of experience in the field of service engineering, Maintenance & Reliability, Software, and X-ray services. He has held various sales, marketing, and services leadership roles in Services with Fluke and GE organizations.

Jason Kraus is a Solutions Consultant with Accruent in the Asset Management organisation, focusing on creating value for customers around facilities, equipment, and process improvements. He has 15 years of experience in enterprise Information Technology organisations in roles from Analyst to Site Lead to Project Manager across industries such as Food Production, O&G/Petrochem, and Clinical services. Jason holds a Bachelors of Management of Information Systems from Wichita State University.

He has held various field services and technical positions with responsibility for installation & commissioning as well as services management roles. He is also a Thermal/Infrared Thermography Level I certified and recently obtained his Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.
