Maintenance & Reliability in Practice Virtual Case Studies Event

Erin Erickson | Executive Director of SMRP, Kellen

1. I saw that this is SMRP’s first event focused entirely on case studies. Could you share why SMRP is hosting this style of event?

Case studies are always our most well attended educational sessions at the SMRP Annual Conference. To meet this clear demand, we created Maintenance & Reliability In Practice – A Virtual Case Studies Event. The two-day virtual program will bring together more than 20 global maintenance and reliably practitioners for over 16 hours of education focused on solutions to real-world problems.

2. What are some of the real-world examples attendees can expect to hear about? Are these only examples from North America?

The event will be divided into two tracks, Tools & Technology and Process & Asset Improvement, and the ‎speakers will represent various industries and organizations from around the world, including Nexus Global, ‎The Barbados Light & Power Company, Saudi Aramco, and more. The case studies presented will highlight ‎current and pressing topics for maintenance and reliability professionals, such as “Setting Up Your Asset ‎Performance Management (APM) Program for Success,” “Optimizing Plant Performance & Energy ‎Conservation,” “Deploying CMMS Systems on Mobile Devices,” and more. ‎

3. I saw that attendees can earn up to 16 hours toward recertification. Could you tell us a bit about the SMRP certification programs?

SMRP’s certifying organization, SMRPCO, offers world-leading certification programs for maintenance, reliability and physical asset management professionals. These certification programs go beyond textbook knowledge by testing real-world experiences and abilities.

Our certifications include the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), the leading credential for certifying the knowledge, skills and abilities of maintenance, reliability and physical asset management professionals, the Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), the leading credentialing program for the knowledge, skills and abilities of maintenance and reliability technicians, and the Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) program, which assesses an individual’s qualifications to be an auditor of asset management systems.

CMRPs and CMRTs who attend the Maintenance & Reliability In Practice – A Virtual Case Studies Event can earn up to 16 hours toward their recertification. It’s never too early to start earning hours!

4. What are some of the other new offerings we can expect to see from SMRP over the next year?

After a year of virtual events, SMRP is excited to host our 29th Annual Conference on October 25-18 in St. Louis. We’re also adding a virtual component to the event this year for those who do not feel comfortable traveling or need a bit more flexibility in their schedule. We also have a few new educational offerings that we’ll be releasing throughout the next year including practice exam subscriptions for our CMRP and CMRT exams, a soft launch for CMRP exam prep training, a virtual Best Practice Metrics workshop series, and an Emerging Leader Manager Summit. It’s an exciting year for SMRP members! All of our members are able to access our new educational sessions, workshops and materials at a significant discount. Interested in our membership?
