The big question is management willing to spend the money to make the machinery reliable. I found over my years as a maintenance fitter most companies will only repair machinery when it fails. It’s frustrating trying to explain to most companies I have worked at that if they do preventative maintenance then it will reduce there downtime therefore increase there production. The only way I could convince management to do preventative maintenance is to show examples on paper that if they spend this on this machine then you will save this on breakdowns therefore increase production saving you this?
