Episode 26: Butler Fuqua

Eric Bevevino | Contributing Host, Veterans Connected

Welcome to Veterans Connected! In this episode, Eric Bevevino interviews Marine Corps Veteran, Butler Fuqua. Tune in as Butler describes being a K-9 handler while serving, working for the government after transitioning from the Marine Corps and more.

MORE ABOUT BUTLER…

I was born and raised in Alabama. I joined the Marines shortly after graduating high school where I served as a Military Police (MP) K-9 handler supporting the president’s Helicopter. I traveled the world and met a lot of great people including the President of the United States.

After the Marines, I bounced around with whatever job I could find. Once I was married, I knew that I needed to find a more solid career path, so I taught myself to code.

I became a Software Engineer and quickly leveled up my income. I can now provide for my family without needing to lean on help from the V.A. I was very timid growing up, but the Marines gave me a backbone and launched me into this life.

Today, I am in a place to pursue my dream of becoming a successful filmmaker and actor. I am planning to direct and star in my first feature film next year.
