Description:

In this presentation, we will discuss a case study of a newly commissioned multi-million-dollar mining facility that was operated by an Engineering Project & Construction Management (EPCM) organisation with minimal maintenance experience and what effect that had on output. Also illustrate how everyday condition monitoring tools can spearhead a defect elimination initiative, eradicating the root cause of problems that lead to multiple and costly unplanned failure events.

Learning Takeaways

1. CM being used in a proactive sense rather than in the traditional reactive way.
2. Understanding the nature of a ‘defect’
3. How a single defect can have multiple varying effects on an operation/organisation.
