Webinar Description

Electric motors are critical assets that require a good reliability program to achieve life expectancy.  But did you know your electric motors are also your window to see into your most critical assets like pumps, fans, and compressors to identify anomalies and trends that will reduce the life expectancy of these assets?  This webinar will review your electric motor fault zones and discuss quantitative and qualitative analytics of your motor data using case studies involving mechanical faults in various applications.

LEARNING Takeaways

  1. Interesting facts about electric motors
  2. Using an electric motor to see inside your application
  3. Detailed analysis techniques for motors, pumps, and fans

Hi Noah
I am trying to create an Health Index of HT and LT motor connected with pump.

The parameters I am considering is
1. IR TEST
2. PI
3. NO. OF STARTS AND STOPS
4. TOTAL RUNNING TIME
5 EARLIER FAILURE HISTORY
6.GREASED BEARING VIBRATION SPECTRUM
7. MCSA RESULTS
8. AIR GAP
9 PARTIAL DISCHARGE IF POSSIBLE.
Lastly, I want to know from you is there any condition monitoring to detect wedge loosening fault inside the motor.

Why the MTAP2 does not measure the insulation of the motors

a high voltage DC is aplied to measure the insulation, if motor is on and you apply the voltage to the test, there is a short circuit. Mtap is used for online motors.

Great Question Oscar. The MTAP 2 uses an isolation transformer which prevents a ground wall induced drop in system line voltage from being seen on the secondary of the MTAP2 isolation transformer. Insulation integrity is best checked on a de-energized motor with a DC test voltage like that provided by the MCE®.
